The festive season is fast approaching, which means that the Performing Arts department is in full swing busy rehearsing with a number of students across all year groups for our annual Christmas Performing Arts Evening on Wednesday 15th December! This will be a wonderful celebration of both Christmas and Performing Arts at Blaise High School. Featuring performances in Music, Dance, and Drama, the event will be a truly festive affair. 

We really want parents/carers/family to attend the event and celebrate the hard work of our students. We are requesting that any parents/carers/family that would like to attend fill in the permission slip or google form ahead of attending so we can ensure that the correct safety measures are in place, and we can allow for social distancing. Unfortunately we will not be able to permit anyone to watch the event if they have not completed this beforehand.  Payment for tickets will need to be made in cash only before you enter.

Public Health has requested that these vaccinations should go ahead in spite of the lockdown and that this would therefore be a permitted reason for leaving the home. The students should carry their appointment letter with them on their journey to school, in case they are stopped and asked why they are not at home.

Dear Parent/Carer

On the 17^th and 18^th December, Blaise High School (BHS) is holding the first Academic Review (AR) event of this academic year. The aim of this is to give parents, pupils and teachers the opportunity to discuss academic performance. The term will end for students at 15.00 (16.00 for Y11) on Thursday 17^th December to facilitate this event.

Unlike last year when you were able to attend in person, due to Covid-19 restrictions, this will be a remote event. Before the event you will receive the following information:

1. Your child’s academic report for the Autumn term.
2. A summary of what has been studied this term in each subject
3. Some of the frequently asked questions with answers

Once you have read your child’s report, if you have questions for teachers, please contact the school using the following form. To access this click here.

This form will open on Thursday 10 December and will close at 18.00 on Tuesday 15^th December to ensure that questions can be disseminated to staff in time for the AR. Staff will reply to your questions by email by 16.00 on Friday 18^th December.

We really hope that this adjusted form of AR will both maintain the safety of our community and ensure effective academic discussions.
