Term 1
- Year 6 students from local feeder Primary schools invited to take part in a series of after-school taster activities.
- Blaise High School Open Evening
- School in Action tours begin and continue to be advertised on Blaise High School's website and through Primary School's online platforms -booking options can be found on our school website here.
- Deadline for Secondary School applications.
Term 2
- Blaise High School Transition team liaise with Primary Schools to collate contact details for all Year 6 teaching staff.
- KS2 students from local feeder Primary schools invited to take part in a series of after-school taster activities.

Transition timeline shared with Year 6 Parents/Carers
Term 5
- Blaise High School Transition team will liaise with Primary Schools to arrange dates for Year 6 Transition visits. The visits will involve members of our Senior Leadership team meeting with students who have accepted a Year 7 place in their Primary School. Parents/Carers will also be invited to attend a Transition meeting after school. This meeting will again take place in their child's Primary school and will aim to answer any questions or worries they may have regarding the Transition process.
- Head of Year 7 welcome postcard will be sent to all Year 6 students
- Transition Day information letter sent to parents
Term 6

Transition information booklet emailed to all accepted places. This booklet will include key information regarding the Blaise High School Transition process and also advertise our fantastic Summer School and signing up process.

Transition visits take place in Primary Schools by member of Blaise High School SLT and Head of Year 7

Year 7
Summer holiday

Summer school day where Year 7 students can sign up to attend a day where they will get to know their new year group, meet key members of staff, and take part in sample lessons as well as fun, culture-building activities
Start of Term September 2026

The first week of school is staggered so that Year 7 students start before any other year group, and we build up to a full school throughout the week

Extra assemblies, lineup practice and key culture-building activities that allow every new Year 7 student to make a smooth transition and feel part of the school community straight away in September

A celebration barbecue at the end of the first fortnight, where every Year 7 student is celebrated at a graduation ceremony, and every Year 7 family is invited to join us.
