Blaise High School

Year 11 Virtual Assembly

Good afternoon Year 11,

We are absolutely devastated not to see you in school at the moment. But we remain confident that we will be seeing you soon.

Online learning would not be our preferred option and I know all of your teachers are so disappointed not to have you physically sat in front of them. However, we all know the drill. Our teachers here at Blaise are so committed to your learning. I can say with total confidence that the lessons and resources they are uploading for you to complete at home are as close to the real thing as can be! What they are preparing for you is exceptional and is totally relevant to whatever lies ahead when you return to school.

Gavin Williamson spoke today about cancelling the exams we were expecting and using teacher assessed grades. You can find more information about that here:

The system that we use at Blaise will be robust and fair. Any grade submission will be monitored and based on evidence. Initially we believe that running a spring mock season will provide us with the necessary evidence to support us with this.

So, having said all of this the real message today is to - KEEP WORKING. You will be assessed on the work you have completed so far this year and during this half term. Use google classrooms and follow your normal timetable to continue your hard work in all of your subjects.

The assembly recording will have some more details about how to access the work and how to establish good routines. Mrs Brightley will talk at the end about making sure you look after yourself. I want to reiterate her message - stay safe and look after each other. Your teachers are here to support you whenever you need them, email them and keep in touch.
